I offer drone wedding photography and video in Sussex, and I am a certified drone pilot. I have used drone photography at both The Ravenswood and Buxted Park Hotel to capture a different view of a wedding day. All drone coverage is subject to location permission, suitable weather and safe flying conditions.
There is something lovely about seeing yourselves within the whole setting you chose for your wedding. From the ground, I might be concentrating on your expression, your hands or the way you turn towards one another. An aerial photograph brings the gardens, the house and the landscape into that same story. It helps you remember not only who was there, but the place where it all happened.
Drone wedding photography at The Ravenswood
At The Ravenswood in Sharpthorne, West Sussex, the gardens give the photographs a wonderful sense of space. In Jen and Stu’s pictures, the path curves behind them towards the trees and water. They are holding hands, enjoying a moment together, while the wider view shows the setting around them. Their raised hands and bouquet bring their personality into a photograph that also captures the landscape.
The view towards the house tells another part of the story. Its tower and timber details become a backdrop to the people gathered on the lawn. I love the contrast between a portrait of just the couple and a photograph that brings the wedding guests together in the same place. Used thoughtfully, that wider perspective can sit beautifully alongside the closer, more personal photographs in a wedding gallery.
You can see more of the day in Jen and Stu’s Ravenswood wedding story, from their preparations to the celebration.

Drone wedding photography at Buxted Park Hotel
Buxted Park Hotel in East Sussex offers a different backdrop: a pale country house, garden steps, lawns and water. I have photographed weddings here with a drone too. The photographs below show how the architecture and the gardens can become part of a couple’s portraits without losing the couple at the centre of the picture.
A view across the pond draws the eye towards the couple on the steps, with the house behind them. On the lawn, there is room for a more playful image, a raised bouquet or a walk together. Closer to the building, the columns create a strong frame. These are different ways of remembering the same setting, and I choose the view to suit the people and the moment.

Wedding drone video: showing the setting in motion
I also offer drone video, subject to the same permissions and conditions. Moving aerial footage can reveal the relationship between the house, the grounds and the surrounding landscape in a way that a single photograph cannot. It can give a sense of arriving at the venue or show the space around you as you walk together.
If you are interested in drone video as well as photographs, tell me when we discuss your plans. We can talk through the footage you would like and agree what can be provided as part of your coverage. The photographs on this page are examples of my aerial still photography.
Planning drone coverage with a certified drone pilot
I want drone photographs to fit comfortably into your wedding day. We can look at your venue, your timings and the images that matter to you beforehand, leaving room to respond to the conditions on the day. A short opportunity for an aerial portrait should feel like part of your time together.
Location permission and weather are essential. I assess the surroundings and any relevant flight restrictions before flying, as well as the conditions on the day. Previous drone photography at The Ravenswood or Buxted Park does not mean that a flight is guaranteed for every wedding there. If flying is not suitable, we continue with your wedding photographs on the ground.
As a Sussex wedding photographer, I photograph celebrations across the county. If you are planning a Brighton wedding, you are welcome to ask about drone coverage too. We will assess your particular location rather than assume every city or coastal setting is suitable.
